by Helen Erwin · August 27, 2019 If you want food to be a mouthwatering experience that’s bursting with flavor combinations and textures, then you should go to Kailsash Parbat’s Chaat Bar. Chaat means street food, and you’ll be visiting one of India’s Street Food Bars right here in New York City. It’s pilgrimage worthy for foodies.I recommend ordering their Samosa Chaat and their Chaat Platter.Samosa Chaat is made by covering vegetable samosas with chickpeas that have been cooked to perfection and then drenching it all with with yogurt sauce, tamarind and coriander chutney. Last but not least, the dish is sprinkled with hot Indian chili powder. The combination of all this is divine. And no one does this quite as well as they do at Kailash Parbat. The Samosa Chaat is served in a skillet. The Chaat Platter comes with little rows with tiny eatable baskets, chips, and a pile of rice krispies, overflowing with sauces and chutneys. The rice krispies surprised me at first but after my first bite I was convinced. It works, the crunchy mixes extremely well with the moist; the sauces, chutneys and yogurt. This too of course has a good amount of hot Indian chili powder sprinkled over it. It’s so good that it’s hard to hold down a conversation. As my friend said the other day, you’re transported to another world at first bite. The Chaat Platter is very good with Mango Lassi. http://www.kailashparbatny.com/ Share
